Technical Sales Specialist – Cornwall

Farm Visits & Sales

  • Prospecting – cold calling on farms, building relationships and gaining sales.
  • Territory Development: Drive and expand on-farm sales of our premium Fertilisers, Soil Conditioners, and Animal Nutrition/Welfare products.
  • Retain existing business with regular visits to ensure products are performing as sold and provide the farms with feedback on crop, soil and animal health. Grow business with other solutions that will give the farmers an ROI.
  • Being analytical and data driven when recommending solutions or following up on farms.
  • Conduct on farm trials of products to demonstrate yours and Timac’s products value.

CRM

  • Ensure you CRM is updated regularly with detail reports of discussions had on farm, details added to farms account.

Communication

  • Be confident at communicating with farmers and different types of people.
  • Be able to work on your own and be self motivated but also share successes with colleague sand support others within the wider TAUK team.
  • Be able to communicate well with other businesses and distributors, develop the relationship and leverage this to help grow territory

Self motivated

  • Find solutions to problems, identify new ways to drive territory growth.

 

Person Specification

  • FACTS qualified (or be willing to work towards this).
  • Experience on Dairy Farms & willingness to learn vegetable production.
  • Must have the ability to work independently in a field-based sales role.
  • Well networked and have a thorough understanding of the territory being advertised.
  • Results-driven mindset – motivated by solving on-farm challenges and confident selling across a diverse product portfolio while working towards clear sales KPIs.
  • Commercial experience – successful background in sales within the farming/agricultural industry.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • A full UK Driving License.

Regional Sales Manager

Key responsibilities: (not limited to):

  • You will be the driving force behind developing and expanding sales territories within the Eastern region of the UK in a hands on and field-based approach.
  • Open new sales territories.
  • Once a territory reaches a sufficient level of growth/sales, you will recruit and onboard a dedicated Technical Sales Specialist to take over ongoing development and maintain momentum and then repeat.
  • Manage and lead a team of sales professionals, developing high-performance.
  • Provide on-field support to your team.
  • Engage proactively with distributors, providing commercial and technical support while leveraging contacts and motivating them to actively grow sales and maximise market penetration.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and targets.
  • Set and monitor team KPIs.
  • Segmentation of the region, providing a platform to build upon for sustained future success.
  • Provide sales forecasts and reports, actively utlising data from the company CRM.
  • Provide agronomic support to your team.
  • Develop/train sales team in technical and commercial aspects.

About you (essential):

  • Minimum degree qualified (agriculture-related or other closely related field).
  • FACTS & BASIS Qualified.
  • People management experience within farming/agriculture (two years minimum).
  • Commercial experience – successful background in sales within the farming/agricultural industry.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to analyse market data and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • A full UK Driving License. Requirement to be field-based and show presence within the region in a hands-on approach.
