Grassland Agro are delighted to offer Third Level Students the opportunity to join our team on Industry Work Placement for 10 weeks commencing on 5th May 2025.

The role

The role of the temporary contract is to support the Sustainability, Product and Marketing Team to deliver the sustainability Programme for all participating farmers. 

Each student will work closely with the Product manager, Technical Sales Advisor and Regional Management team to deliver the following:
-Grass Silage measurement of yield, nitrates and sugars
-Grass VESS
-Solvita Sampling
-Careful recording of all data
-Clover scoring
-Social media takeover
-Trial work and measurement
-Group Commercial Project
-General administrative activities
-General operational activities

The Person
-From a farming back-ground with excellent knowledge of farming and in the process of achieving a qualification relevant to our industry ( agriculture)
-Willing to work hard and on own initiative.
-A positive approach to problem solving and team interaction.
-Excellent organisation and time-management abilities
-Full Clean driver’s license
-Ideal locations include: Limerick, Kerry, South East ( Waterford, KK, South Tipp) Mayo, Longford/ North West region.

We Offer
Full time role, Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week, for 10 weeks commencing on Monday 5th May 2025
Minimum wage payment plus incidental pre-approved expenses
A company van or car will be provided as the role involves traveling to various location in the region assigned. A fuel card will be provided.

Students will only be considered if available from Monday 5th May.

We are seeking highly motivated Technical Sales Advisors – Agronomist’s to join our growing team in the West Cork region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advice and sales of our unique enhanced product range,  in soil conditioning, fertilization and mineral supplements direct to farmers through local co-ops and merchants in the region. 

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients in the agricultural industry.
Develop and maintain relationships with local co-ops and merchants.
Provide technical advice and support to farmers regarding our range of products, and our soil sustainability program.
Attend trade shows and other industry events to promote the company's products and services.
Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales targets and identify new business opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.

Requirements
Commercial knowledge, sales and advisory skills experience
Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, or related field.
In-depth knowledge of farming and agricultural products, as well as their applications and benefits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Full driving license.

We are seeking a Dispatch Administrator to join the team at our busy Cork Factory.
The primary focus of the role of the Dispatch Administrator, is supporting manufacturing and sales teams. The role will report directly to the Factory Manager and will collaborate with office and logistic administrators on-site, as well as those in other factory and warehouse locations. Works closely with external logistics providers and engages with merchant trade.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in contributing to the overall success of the company by maintaining efficient processes and fostering positive relationships with both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities
Logistical Duties including coordinating collections and deliveries of both raw materials and finished products
Arranging haulage for raw material unloading from ships
Overseeing the Dispatch / Weighbridge process and admin for shipping
Effective Stock Control
Liaising effectively with Customers
Preparing weekly payroll, tracking annual leave and sales reports.
Admin Support

Requirements
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
Basic Transport Logistic experience.
Good IT knowledge
Strong communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Dedication to providing excellent service to both internal and external customers.
Work effectively with different teams and departments.

We now have a vacancy in our Limerick  factory (Dock Road) for a Maintenance Electrical Technician

The Role:
Partial responsibility for the corrective and preventative maintenance incl diagnosis and development of on-site systems, while working as part of the overall team to support plant production and safety standards. Reporting to Maintenance Manager / Qualified Electrician.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide maintenance support to production operations.
Maintain production equipment through preventative and reactive organisation.
Perform routine fabrication assignments as directed.
Perform testing to ensure machinery is operating correctly and safely.
Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimum specifications.
Supervise a scheduled programme periodically for maintenance shutdown.
Adhere to all site Quality and Safety Standards

The Person:
Recognised National qualification / apprenticeship.
Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Team player who can also work on their own initiative.
Good overall knowledge of conveyors, elevators and screening systems.
Good overall knowledge of PLC’s and programming.
Experience of working with weighing systems.
Basic computer knowledge essential.
